October 2010 - New yacht marina management software for SLASPA

Logistics software provider Ideal Business Services Ltd have developed and installed a Yachting Marina Management System for the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA).

'Marina Manager' is being used at Rodney Bay Marina, the largest yacht and sail boat marina on the island nestled on the north side of Saint Lucia, and also at Marigot Bay Marina, on the island's scenic west coast.

'Marina Manager' has been developed using Unidata database with ASP.NET utilising mv.NET from BlueFinity for connection to the database. Users connect into the system through a web browser.

One main benefit that the system gives is that SLASPA's Accounts department can access the system from headquarters via web browser and reconcile all yachting fees without having to wait for documents to arrive from the marinas.

SLASPA's Marketing department have access to statistics online and in real time, for example showing the number of yachts arriving at each marina by size of yacht.

Importantly, all fees payable are calculated automatically by the system so there is no need for any manual calculations. The fees include navigational aid, passenger fees in the case of chartered yachts, clearance fees, occasional licence fees and pratique.
